Volvo Group launches its New Electric Hybrid Bus (7539 Views)

Volvo Group launches its new 7900 Electric Hybrid bus in European market on September, 2014. It’s a Silent, cleaner and significantly lower fuel consumption bus. It’s a new generation public transport bus. This bus plug in technology reduces fuel consumption and carbon dioxide by up to 75% compared to a ordinary diesel buses. Total energy consumption is reduced by 60%. This bus will allow us to reduce energy consumption, air pollution, climate impact and noise. Volvo 7900 Electric hybrid bus will be launched in Germany and Sweden on 2014. Then, Series production is scheduled to start in early 2016.

The bus is equipped with an electric motor that is powered by Lithium batteries. It also has a small diesel engine. The bus is charged quickly at charging stations. The bus can be driven about seven kilometers on electricity alone. It will be recharging six minutes at end stations.
