Hyundai i20 launched in South African market (1143 Views)

South Korean auto maker Hyundai recently launched the i20 model in South Africa. It is one of the best popular hatchback segment in India. The new generation i20 model manufactured in India. The Elite i20 available in both diesel and petrol variants. Hyundai i20 petrol variants only available in South African market. Hyundai i20 petrol variant is powered by 1.2 litre, 4 cylinder 83 bhp VTVT kappa engine and another one is 1.4 litre 99 bhp VTVT kappa engine. Engine comes with five speed manual gearbox.

The 1.2 litre engine generates the maximum power of 61 kw @ 4000 rpm and 115 Nm @ 4000 rpm peak torque. The 1.4 litre engine makes the power of 74 kw @ 6000 rpm and 133 Nm @ 3500 rpm torque.

Hyundai South Africa Marketing director Mr.Stanley Anderson says, “The new i20 does not only look fresh from the outside, with its clean and exciting lines, but the interior reflects a feeling of luxury and excellent ergonomic design”.

"Customers are also in for a pleasant surprise when they take this new model in our stable for a test drive: the engineers have done a fine job of creating a car with solid, surefooted dynamics on the road, and a well-tuned, direct steering setup that gives good feedback," added Anderson.
